Phosphate Mines Company signed an MOU with Om Ali Almshouse for volunteering and charity works, to assist the Almshouse programs, activities and campaigns, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan 2015. The MOU included the distribution of 10 thousand food boxes to Om Ali Almshouse beneficiary families across the Kingdom.
The MOU was signed with the attendance of the Company Board Chairman Engineer Ammer Al Megaly and Company CEO Dr. Shafik Ashkar and Om Ali Almshouse General Director Samer Belqar.
Dr. Ashkar mentioned that the Company is yearly keen upon providing Ramadan charity boxes for needy families, as part of the Company social responsibility activities; a field believed in and applied by the Company in different channels throughout the year.

He further added that signing the MOU with Om Ali Almshouse emerges from the due attention paid by Company to the social work via cooperating with experienced associations, such as Om Ali Almshouse that efficiently communicate with needy families and the poorest areas.
Dr. Ashkar also affirmed that the Company continuously supports volunteering and charity activities in the Kingdom, especially in the Company sites in the south governorates and Russeifa, and interacts with the society to fulfill related needs, whether in the holy month of Ramadan or throughout the year.
In addition, he emphasized that the cooperation between the Company and the civil society organizations emanates from the Company belief in the significance of holding partnerships between the private sector and the CSOs; to serve the nation and citizens, identify the required needs and entrench the concept of public-private partnership in such a field.
From his side, Om Ali Almshouse General Director Samer Belqar expressed his appreciation for the efforts exerted by Jordan Phosphate Mines Company to serve the local community and implement a clear strategy for social responsibility, whether in the south governorates, where production sites exist, or in other Kingdom governorates.
He further stated that Om Ali Almshouse believes in the importance of partnering with associations providing them with support and contributing in fulfilling their vision, i.e. reaching all families below food poverty line and assisting them through sustainable food support program.
Moreover, he pinpointed the necessity of concerting efforts with the official associations and leading companies in the private sector, so as to enable the Almshouse to execute the national project launched last May heading to institutionalizing the volunteering, social and charity work.
To elaborate, he underscored that the boxes provided by the Almshouse comprise of 22 food items, including children specific materials, which satisfy the family needs for a whole month.
It is noteworthy that Om Ali Almshouse is currently feeding 18300 approved families below food poverty line across the Kingdom governorates.
